Starting Mother's Day Out

Jacob started daycare (or "Mother's Day Out") for the first time on Feb. 4th. He will be going once a week for 5 hours. He was so excited about going, and did not have any separation anxiety when I dropped him off. The teachers could hardly believe that he had never been in a daycare program.

He loved having a lunch bag and back pack like the girls do when they go to school.

He went right in and was eager to play with his new friends. Our little friend Hayden Leffel is in his class too, but wasn't there yet when I dropped him off.

The teachers said he had a great first day. He even adjusted well to his first early nap on his nap mat. They told him to lay quietly with his eyes closed and try to rest and go to sleep. After about 10 minutes of him laying quietly, they thought he was asleep, and they were rustling around with something near him. He suddenly spoke up without opening his eyes, and said "That is going to wake me up!" They had a good laugh .
